Third Place Awarded to Commercial Oklahoma Inc. Travis Mason

Only one vote each separated the top three spots, with a tie for the third position, in OKC FRIDAY’s fourth annual ranking of the Most Powerful Young Professionals in OKC.

In the top five finalist OKC Friday named J.D. Baker, Clay Taylor, Travis Mason, Collins Peck, Adam Rainbolt, and Graham Colton.

Travis Mason, in a tie for third, is a quiet, but effective leader, championing many of the same causes as his father Steve Mason.

He is on the executive board of the Boy Scouts Last Frontier Council, Positive Tomorrows. Mason is a past president of the Downtown Club of Oklahoma City and the Executive Board and Finance Committee of Allied Arts, as well as a past board member of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Oklahoma City.

A graduate of Casady School, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Rice University where he also played football.

Travis tied with Collins Peck for third place.

Phillips Murrah: Moving to Midtown

Cushman & Wakefield | Commercial Oklahoma is pleased to announce a new 80,00 SF Office building coming to Midtown OKC. Our team partnered with Midtown Renaissance to bring this new building to 424 NW 10^th Street. We also worked with Phillips Murrah who will be the anchor tenant of the building occupying the 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th floors.

The Oklahoman wrote, “The new, five-story office building’s design is intended to represent the vibrancy of the law firm, which will feature wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling windows and large interior and exterior open spaces. Phillips Murrah will occupy the top three floors, with the two floors below accommodating a restaurant and retail space. Midtown Motivation One of Phillips Murrah’s motives for moving further out into the community is the participate in and benefit from the vitality of Midtown.”

The building is comprised of 5 floors, 3 balconies, restaurant/retail space, common areas and restroom facilities servicing each floor. There will also be a new 250 space parking garage constructed for the use of the tenants and visitors.

Design Your Downtown | June 2022

Cushman & Wakefield | Commercial Oklahoma hosted the first ever Design Your Downtown event in June 2022 in the Robinson Renaissance.

At the Design Your Downtown event Oklahomans weighed in on what they thought downtown OKC is missing and what they would like to see developed in our city. Through several different voting stations, their votes were gathered. They were also given the option to write in their opinions on an open forum wall. The open forum allowed Oklahomans to voice their thoughts and opinions about specific changes that they want to see happen in Downtown OKC. Some common themes in the open forum were: Affordability & accessibility of food/stores/services in Downtown, Safety & Security, Address homelessness issue, more of a variety of food and encouraging more residential and night-life in Downtown.

It was great to see so many people from the Oklahoma community come together and participate in efforts to further improve the city.

Charitable Influence Award awarded to Commercial Oklahoma Inc.

At the commercial real estate firm Commercial Oklahoma Inc., a member of the Cushman & Wakefield Alliance, people believe in being good neighbors to the communities they serve.

In Oklahoma City, they commit their time and money to organizations like the Boy Scouts of America’s Last Frontier Council, Positive Tomorrows and Northeast Oklahoma City Renaissance. One key focus has been helping Positive Tomorrows, Oklahoma City’s school with a mission of supporting children and families experiencing homelessness.

Travis Mason, director of office services for Commercial Oklahoma, has been involved with Positive Tomorrows for more than 25 years. He has served as a member of the Positive Tomorrows board
for the last five years and serves on its foundation committee and as chairman of the public policy committee.

The experience of working with the school has had a “profound impact” on the views the company has toward people experiencing homelessness as well as the affordable housing crisis facing the families, Mason said.

“COI has made it a priority to advocate for affordable housing at the city and state levels of government,” he said.

As chairman of Positive Tomorrows’ public policy committee, Mason is actively advocating for school families, which includes housing. Most recently, the committee has worked toward adjusting the national definition of homelessness within the U.S. Department of Education

Since Commercial Oklahoma started volunteering with Positive Tomorrows, employees have spent about 160 hours volunteering at the school. “The long-term benefits are seen through the children and their
families who are active within the school,” Mason said. “Witnessing families’ growth towards a better future leaves OKC a better place to live.”

Commercial Oklahoma Inc., or COI, is a brokerage firm focused on serving Oklahoma companies, mainly in central Oklahoma with some clients outside the state.

Mason also is involved with the Boy Scouts of America’s Last Frontier Council, serving as budget chairman, member of the building committee and a foundation trustee. Fellow COI team member
David Meadows is a key member of NE OKC Renaissance.

“Give more that you have, and you’ll be amazed with the results,” Mason said.
